RELIABILITY INDEX 2 (GOOD)

GDP $135-billion  2009

Budget $1.8-billion 2009

The army can deploy one motorized

battalion group for operations, though

sustained deployment would require the call-up of reserves and activation of a third infantry battalion.

The reserves (Territorial Army) are manned at very low levels; aside from filling out deployed units, they can only provide a cadre on which an expansion could take

place.

PERSONNEL Active: 4,400; Reserves: Territorial 1800; Civilians 700
